5 Digital Content Types and How to Use Them
Your content strategy should stay lively, interesting and varied to attract different audiences. |
It's the same principle with your digital content. You might have a passion for writing, like me, but if your entire content strategy revolves around text-based materials, your target audience might eventually tune out, or you might never reach those people who prefer listening to a Podcast on their way to work.
To help you spice things up, here are five website content ideas to try out.
Infographics
This infographic shows visual learners that 65% of the world's population is like them. |
Videos
A study from Cisco projects that video will account for more than 80 percent of all web traffic by 2019. There's no doubt that video has become the most effective content medium to engage your audience. After all, we all love sharing those kitten videos on Facebook, don't we?E-Books
Great for providing an interesting, in-depth overview of a topic, E-books go beyond the written word to incorporate images, infographics and links to additional resources. They make for effective download offers on landing pages. Getting free knowledge is a great incentive for a prospect to give up that coveted email address.Case Studies
Case studies are excellent to use in the decision stage of the buyer's journey, when your prospect is trying to decide on which solution to go with. They are typically long-form articles, although they work as videos too, or both. An effective case study demonstrates that your solution is the most effective in solving a particular problem—in terms of cost and performance—so your prospect pulls the purchase trigger.Podcasts
Consider adding a Podcast to your content marketing repertoire. |
Of course, any form of content can, and should, be converted to other types of content. HubSpot has some clever ways to re-purpose a single piece of content. You have the ideas. Just put them in different formats to reach as many of your targets as possible.
